Grade 2 Learning - patterns in 100s chart

Bonjour!
This week we started a few learning activities with growing and shrinking number patterns in the 100s chart. First we started by identifying the numbers that are included when counting by 2's, 5's, 10's and 25's to 100:
Next, we spent some time working on describing growing and shrinking patterns as a repeated operation of adding or subtracting. Any number pattern that is growing can be described in this way:
1. Commencez à ________[#].
(Start at (number)).
2. Ajoute/Enlève _______[#] chaque fois.
(Add/Subtract (number) each time).

Finally, we began plotting a given growing or subtracting pattern on the 100s chart. Monsieur gave each student a card with numbers for where to start and how many to add or subtract each time. Students were asked to keep their cards secret with the idea that when they are finished plotting, listing, and labelling on the # line, another student can try to study their work and deduce the pattern rule. We will continue with these next week.
