This week we focused on working with base ten blocks and used a bingo-style game to practice making and recognizing numbers using this system. Base 10 blocks are great for showing ones, tens, and hundreds. Here is the number 243 using base ten blocks:
We were focused on numbers to 50 with our game. Each table had one person who was making the numbers and calling out, the rest of the students check their cards and put a chip on any numbers that are called. Three in a row makes bingo:
Thanks for the support this term! In the new year we will be starting with measurement. If you wanted to practice over the break, counting to 50 by 1's, 2's, 5's, 10's and back from 20 by 1's, 2's, and 5's. Have a great holiday and happy new year!!
