This week students were continuing in their acquisition of counting skills and decomposing numbers. The counting skills for this unit are as follows (all to be in French):
-count to 50 by 1's
-count to 50 by 2's
-count to 50 by 5's
-count to 50 by 10's
-count back from 20 by 1's
-count back from 20 by 2's
We have mostly been using a 100's chart for counting, and you could practice these skills at home using one as well.
Our work in decomposing numbers this week involved investigating sets of two numbers that combine to make up other numbers. Here are some examples students made using different manipulatives:
