Grade 1 learning - building 3D objects

Bonjour! This week we had some time to build some of the 3D objects we have been learning about and investigate their geometric properties. The first task was to build objects using packing snow and a few tools. Students worked alone or in pairs to create spheres, cones, cylinders, and others. The next task was to create large pyramids in groups using a babes all bat and yarn as guides to help create the corners. We then coloured one of the triangles to help identify it. Here are some photos from our building:
Three cylinders stacked...
A collection of finished forms: cones, spheres, and others.
The two square-based pyramids we were building, farthest with one triangle side coloured pink.
