Grade 1 learning - Hungry Hounds

Bonjour!

This week we created some 'hungry hounds' (chiens faims) from containers:

Next, the task was to estimate how many scoops of food our hounds could 'eat' before they were full. We used water and sand along with a small scoop to estimate and measure with. After recording the estimates and measurements, they had to repeat the procedure using a partner's dog, then compare the two and decide which one had the larger capacity. You might be making a trip to the vet this weekend as our experimenting was a little rough on the dogs! Next week we are starting to tell time.
