Grade 2 learning - Rekenrek arithmetic and plants

Bonjour! The students have worked hard to build themselves a 100-level Rekenrek and we are now using them as one tool for solving addition and subtraction problems with 2-digit numbers. Here's what they look like:
At 50, the students were asked to change their colour scheme so that it's easy to quickly see if a number is above or below 50. This one needs three more rows. The red card is a peice of a crazy carpet!

We have been learning outside using a portable whiteboard, our magnets for the counting and adding/subtracting routine and some seats that were cut from an impact mat. The students planned how we should cut the mat to make 24 seats and we landed on a 4x6 grid which represents multiplication. Here is how they look:
As well we have started some plants which I'm hoping will grow enough for us to count, measure, and investigate. We did bulbs:
